projected patterns
If you didn't notice from the RAFW pictures we posted, there is a large trend amongst fashiondesigners for digital printing and perfect patterns. As seen in the photo shoot below, often many
patterns are mashed together and shot against more patterns. It's like visual pattern vomit.
We've been in awe of the projected light show on Sydney's beautiful Opera House. And it's got us a thinking...Perhaps we could shoot a print story...but instead of actual prints, we just project them onto basics. Super inspired by the clip down below, from one of our long time favourite films Across The Universe.

A similar technique was explored by Carine Roitfield on Kate Moss in 2005.

We feel like bottling up all our deepest loves and secrets and sending them across the seas! It's a theme we've been noticing lately...from some old Selby pics of the Ksubi showroom, to Matt Corby's Letters video clip, to some ad on the tv...And speaking of Matt Corby, we've just rediscovered him in all his smouldering eye'd glory years after his Australia Idol teenage debut. Loving the new direction...he sounds a bit like our favourite lone ranger Bon Iver...only better, because he's a surfer boy with beautiful eyes. Obviously.

a vampire weekend
Depressed that the Vampire Weekend show had sold out, you can imagine our excitement when we got the call to say we'd scored some last minute tickets! These boys from New York have such a unique sound, borrowing from reggae in a way no one else is doing in mainstream music. Their music is fun to dance to, but also fun to relax to. We discovered them a few years ago when trawling through YouTube and came across this fun clip. It's so quirky and upbeat, you can't help but smile. Watch it below:video: youtube
The show last night was pretty relaxed. They had a simple set- just them on stage with a few chandeliers hanging overhead. The best part was the enlarged album cover (which we love! There's something about that picture...) that came to life through lights replacing the girls pupils and flashing like crazy.

a rafw finale
We promised Ksubi shoe pics. Sorry they are yet to come! So in the mean time, lets look at their RAFW show which finished off the week. A ten year anniversary, and a rebirth of sorts for the label, the collection was...a little underwhelming? That said, they are a street label so it should be fun and edgy. We just thought it was a little trailer park (why trucker hats on the models?) mixed with a little denim-on-denim Chloe style. Regardless, as a show, it looked amazing. It's obvious a large amount of work and production went into producing the event, from the rotating lights and MASSIVE space, to the thumping sound track and cheeky 'thankyou' notes. They lived streamed the show through Harpers Bazaar and Style Bubble. Take a look here.

Not sold on the band themselves, although it is a cute song, but we just love this strange little clip! Watch out at the end for their multiple camera invention. It's 360 degrees of genius and we're trying to figure out how to make one ourselves. Take a peek...video: youtube
