bonfire beauty

A short video by Greg Kadel featuring Cameron Russell. Like with the Miranda post, this is filmed on the set of a cover shoot. The flickering flames and underwater shots are mesmerising...and we need to find out who the song is by!

family talent

We just have to point out that the beautiful Elle Fanning (in Sofia's 'Somewhere') is in fact sister to Miss Dakota Fanning. Having already worked alongside the likes of Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, it seems shes likely to follow in her talented sisters footsteps. No doubt starring in Coppola's film will shoot her into stardom. Just look at Coppola's previous leading ladies...Scarlett Johansson, Kirsten Dunst...

somewhere sofia

Now here's something we're really excited about. The trailer for Ms Coppola's new film, Somewhere. From the lady who brought us The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation, and a modern Marie Antoinette, it's sure to be a visual feast.

who are we?

"I think it's time that you and I had a little heart to heart"

Who are we? It's probably time to tell.

Platform is a magazine- currently in production- aimed at those young at heart and free in spirit. We're all about fashion, creativity, and embracing the individual. We're a niche publication, based on the east-coast of Australia, with strong fashion focused content.

In the next few months we'll post up here some behind the scenes shots of the making of the magazine.

Be patient friends...

down the rabbit hole

Yvan Rodic sure has an eye for the weird and the wonderful. Here are some recent snaps from his trip to Buenos Aires. We especially like the furry booties!

We still weren't sure how we felt about the swashbuckling trend for thigh highs until now. EXCELLENT.

projected patterns

If you didn't notice from the RAFW pictures we posted, there is a large trend amongst fashion
designers for digital printing and perfect patterns. As seen in the photo shoot below, often many
patterns are mashed together and shot against more patterns. It's like visual pattern vomit.

We've been in awe of the projected light show on Sydney's beautiful Opera House. And it's got us a thinking...Perhaps we could shoot a print story...but instead of actual prints, we just project them onto basics. Super inspired by the clip down below, from one of our long time favourite films Across The Universe.

A similar technique was explored by Carine Roitfield on Kate Moss in 2005.
